About Me
I am Laishram Jenny. I am an abstract artist working primarily in acrylic and mixed media, creating layered, expressive works that explore emotion, texture, and the unseen. My current practice is deeply intuitive — led more by feeling than form — but my journey here has been shaped by years of observing the world around me with great care.

I began as a watercolorist, painting plein air scenes of landscapes, light, and quiet everyday moments. Those early works taught me how to see — how to notice subtle shifts in color, atmosphere, and line. But over time, I felt drawn to something less literal and more internal. Abstract art offered a freedom I hadn’t known before — a way to explore not just what I saw, but what I felt.

As an Army wife, I find inspiration in transience, resilience, and the shifting sense of home. My abstract pieces often explore emotional landscapes shaped by movement and memory.

My work is heavily inspired by the bold emotional language of Abstract Expressionism and the meditative, immersive qualities of Color Field painters. Artists like Mark Rothko, Helen Frankenthaler, and Joan Mitchell have deeply influenced how I think about space, scale, and the emotional power of color. I’m drawn to their ability to communicate the intangible — and to create quiet, resonant intensity through abstraction.

I am a modern abstract artist working at the intersection of minimalism, color, and the Wabi-Sabi aesthetic. Rooted in a belief that beauty lies in simplicity and imperfection, my work features soft, layered color fields and tactile surfaces that invite stillness and contemplation. Each painting is an intuitive process — a response to emotion, silence, and space. Influenced by both contemporary design and traditional Japanese aesthetics, my goal is to create art that complements mindful living and modern interiors. My work is available as original pieces, limited editions, and commissions upon request.
